Each affiliate is assigned an ‘affiliateID’ when they join the Webgains network. However, this ID is not used in the tracking code, this is a parent category level ID. When the affiliate adds their websites to their account (on sign up or afterwards) Webgains assigns each website a ‘campaign ID’. The campaign ID is the actual ID used in the tracking.

This was primarily created to allow our affiliates to separate their reporting for multiple websites which is critical for large affiliate businesses. This gives each of our affiliates a lot of control over their account and their reporting. Affiliates’ can add as many ‘campaigns/websites’ to their Webgains account as they like. In the past, these large affiliate businesses had to use ‘Sub ID’s’ or what Webgains calls a ‘Click reference’ to separate their reporting per website or campaign. Using a click reference coupled with web service access, these affiliates could created their own system of reporting.

So where do I find my campaign ID? It can be found at the top-middle of your Webgains home page next to your account summary. Here is a snapshot of where to locate it within your Webgains administration area:

For those affiliates that want to use multi-campaign/website reporting, please read on to find out more about how to use your Webgains account effectively.

When an affiliate logs in to their account, they are only logged into one campaign at a time. There is a ‘switch site’ feature at the top left of their admin area which can switch between campaigns/sites. The important thing to remember is that when an affiliate joins a merchant, it means that only that campaign ID has a membership with that merchant. If you switch campaign IDs in your tracking code and there is no membership between that campaign and the merchant, it will not track. This will be obvious when you switch to a new campaign and the ‘programs joined’ link will read zero “0″ merchants. But you should always get your links from the Webgains admin area to be sure you have a valid membership with a merchant before you start promoting them. You will also not be able to access any merchant links until you join a merchant under that particular campaign so if you can get your code, you are ready to start promoting them.

Another function that affiliates have requested is the need for a multi-user level access to each campaign/website so large affiliate organizations can control the privacy of revenues and sensitive campaign details amongst their own employees. There is a ‘manage users’ link in the menu which allows the primary account holder to set up new users and control their level of access. There are 5 levels of access: Administrator, Manager, Editor, Viewer & No Login. In the below example, we have set up a user with administrator access to only one campaign called ‘My Blog Site’. In this diagram, you can see the levels of access permissions that you can use for your employees to ensure critical affiliate data remains private for the administrator.

Once you have clicked on voucher codes, you will see a list of new codes to use followed by a comprehensive list of all our coupons and the offers that they provide to consumers. There is also a download CSV list for those of you who need to import them quickly and efficiently.
